The Pindito is a 142′ Phinisi that was built by Edi Frommenwiler, one of the pioneers of Indonesian live aboard diving in 1992.
The Pindito is the longest continuously operating liveabaord in Indonesia and therefore also the most experienced. Since its construction the Pindito has been constantly upgraded and undergone several complete refits with the latest in 2018.
GUEST CABINS
There are 8 en-suite air-conditioned cabins, 6 with double beds and 2 with twin beds for a maximum capacity of 16 guests. All cabins are located below deck and feature en-suite bathrooms as well as individually controlled air conditioning. The cabins feature ample storage. Each cabins feature a wirelessly linked smoke detector system and fire extinguisher. Additional extinguishers and a Fire Ball system are located throughout the ship.
SALON
Meals are served family style in the salon in addition to daily snacks between each dive. Cuisine is a mix of traditional Indonesian dishes as well as western fare. Special food request are welcome and accommodated to the best of the chefs ability given the remote nature of destination. Beer and spirits are included and wine is available for purchase.
SUN DECKS
There are both covered and open areas with lounge seating and sun beds. The Dive deck also features a movable sunshade and freshwater showers.
CAMERA FACILITIES
The Pindito features a dedicated camera and charging room that opens to the dive deck as well as dedicated freshwater rinse tanks. Voltage stabilized 110V and 220V charging is provided to European two-prong outlets.
In addition to more standard Raja Ampat, Komodo, Alor and Banda Sea itineraries shared by many liveaboards, the Pindito has pioneered special itineraries for those seeking a truly unique Indonesian dive or snorkel experience.
BIODIVERSITY CRUISE
Journey over 1500 miles across the archipelago, visiting Raja Ampat, the Spice Islands as well as Alor and Komodo on a single 14 night cruise.
WHALE & MACRO CRUISE
With over 17 species of cetaceans, the Raja Ampat and Banda Sea regions are hotspots for large animal sightings and encounters. With on-board cetacean experts, the Pindito spends part of the day looking for whales as well as diving in the afternoons.
